His second band, The Style Council, recorded the song "Have You Ever Had It Blue?" for the 1986 film. The novel was adapted into a musical film directed by Julien Temple and released in 1986. It meant getting a wardrobe to fit the character in the book, on which I modelled myself entirely... then I went to see him.
